Children are active constructors of their own knowledge which is built through curiosity, investigation and experimentation. As a result, our core curriculum emerges from the ideas which inspire children into acquiring knowledge from the social and natural world around them. These “worlds” form our base of teaching and help develop and prepare children into creative, responsible and purposeful being.

At this stage, our holistic approach to development starts from helping children to become good listeners and enquirers.
It is through the development of good listening and enquiring skills that understanding and knowledge come in. Children are encouraged to make use of all the surrounding circumstances to help them make sense of the world around them, and with the correct attitude nurtured, they can then become successful in lives.
In addition to the core elements introduced, language acquisition forms part of the curriculum in order to contribute to the development of the generic skills conducive to lifelong learning. English is used as the medium of instruction in our school and children are exposed to a bilingual environment which helps develop communication skills and promote cultural diversity.

We believe that parents are important to the contribution of children’s learning. At Footprints, parents are encouraged to attend workshops once a month in order to acquire and carry on with the teaching strategies necessary to bring up a child at home. The workshops are run in a friendly environment and with lots of practical activities. Topics including but not limited to:
“Raising Leaders”
“The Best-Raised Child” and
“Steps to Draw Potentails”
